UPCOMING TALKS and WALKS

Approximately two times I month, I give an online Zoom presentation on topics related to New York City history (though many of the topics cast a wider geographical net). In good weather, my wife Michelle and I also lead walking tour in New York City, often tied to a recent or upcoming talk.

I have written a number books about New York City (with my wife, Michelle) and worked for a number of years as a journalist writing on topics related to the city's history. Please see the AUTHOR page for more information.

I have been a guest lecturer for numerous organizations, including The New York Historical, Merchant's House Museum, Village Preservation, and more. I have appeared on television and film as a NYC expert and have been quoted in newspapers and magazines on topics as diverse as ticker tape parades, Greenwich Village mythology, and the first non-European settlers in Manhattan.
